Winter

It's officially Fall, but Winter will be here soon enough. There's something beautiful and serene about winter. Not the city winter, where there's more slush and ice salt than anything else. But the country winter - where all you see is trees and undisturbed snow, maybe even a frozen lake.

Here are a few pictures that make me happy. I love the warmth of the golds.

Trends - 2010

I think due to the economic situation, a lot of couples will be thinking twice before spending money. I think that outdoor weddings will continue to be big next year. Most will opt a smaller sized wedding, perhaps even in their own backyard. Baking or making their own homemade favors, hand picked flowers, make for a more intimate feel.
I also see a lot more of the birdcage veils. It gives a really vintage feel.

Check out my veil inspiration sheet.

Yes, I know...it's been a whole 6 days since I've posted a blog. I will try much harder to not let that happen again. In the meantime, I am sharing with you a few inspiration sheets that I put together awhile ago.

Dresses

I have to say, I am a lover of all kinds of dresses. I am constantly looking at magazines, websites etc for new and inspiring ideas, themes, colors etc and I inevitably find myself drawn to the gowns. Here are a few of my favorites. The style is so stunning, yet simple and delicate.

Cakes

There's one thing I love - CAKE! I think wedding cakes are one of the main focal points at the reception and really bring some flair and pizazz. Here are a few of my favorite ones. I'm a fan of funky, original and non-standard cakes. I especially love the mini cakes!!

Thoughts

So I have been contemplating starting my own blog for a while now. Of course, the thought process went a little something like this...
"What would I have to say?"
"Would anyone even read the damn thing?"
"I have thoughts..." (Yes, I stole that line from the movie "Julie and Julia")

So without any further hesitation, I've taken the plunge. I will blog about my event planning adventures, any and all related topics, as well as share a few anecdotes along the way...

I hope I soon start to have a few loyal subscribers and dare I say, maybe a comment or two.

Just beautiful!!

Julie and Patrick

I did the day of coordination for Julie and Patrick's wedding yesterday.

What an experience!
First of all, I could not have asked for nicer couple to work with. They, quite simply, ooze love. I adored all the little details they put into a very original and intimate ceremony and reception. The couple's dog Mojo took part in the ceremony, the photo booth was a hit with guests, homemade cookies as favors and the groom threw a Montreal Canadian's inspired garter. All in all a great hit!

I'll post some pictures soon, I promise.
